HGTV Selects 2007 Dream Home in Winter Park, Colorado - Tours, sweepstakes for ski-in, ski-out property
Winter Park, CO. (December 18, 2006) - With snow-capped peaks reaching over 11,000 feet, world-class skiing, and hundreds of miles of summer biking and hiking trails, Winter Park, Colorado, is a dream destination for many. In 2007, it will become a dream come true for the lucky individual who receives HGTV’s newest Dream Home.
The first ski-in/ski-out property in the 11-year history of the Dream Home sweepstakes, the home holds an estimated worth of more than $2 million dollars. Located in the Bridger’s Cache subdivision at the base of the Mary Jane Ski Area, the three-story, 4,000-square-foot house accommodates 11. Features include a gourmet kitchen opening to a private patio and woods, master suite, bunk room, media room, observation decks, and radiant heated floors.
The house comes fully furnished and accessorized, complete with ski equipment and a new SUV. The new owners will gain access to the Bridger’s Cache community private multi-million dollar clubhouse with steam room, pool, sauna, and private bowling alley. The winner will also take home $250,000 in cash.
The sweepstakes start January 1 during a special airing on HGTV, and continues through mid-March. Competition will be fierce, according to Joyce Burford, Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber marketing director. Last year, HGTV received more than 50 million entries for its Dream Home in the mountains of North Carolina.
Visitors to Winter Park and the surrounding Fraser Valley will have an opportunity to view the Dream House January 8 - March 8 (Monday through Thursday), and during the weekends of January 26-27 and February 10-11. Tours will run 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Cost is $25 for a mid-week ticket and $50 for a weekend ticket. Tickets may be purchased through the Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber or online at www.ticketswest.com beginning December 22.
Proceeds from the tours will benefit the Grand Foundation and the Winter Park Jazz Festival. The Grand Foundation provides financial assistance to non-profit agencies in Grand County that support health and human services, arts and culture, education, amateur sports, and environment. The Winter Park Jazz Festival features local and nationally-known musicians. The July 2007 event will be the Festival’s 25-year anniversary celebration.
Winter Park & The Fraser Valley are located 67 miles northwest of Denver and 40 miles south of Rocky Mountain National Park. The area is known for its downhill slopes, some of the country’s best backcountry ski opportunities, and multi-use biking and hiking trails
