Events are going on all throughout Grand County so it’s impossible not be able to find something fun to do, no matter where you are.

In Winter Park and the Fraser Valley there will be The Lance Gutersohn Fraser 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks where everything is free. It will take place at the Fraser Sports Complex with things like old fashion family games, BBQ, live music and dancing and fireworks!

In Kremmling anyone can enjoy a spectacular fireworks displays off the landmark Kremmling Cliffs. Live music and a Firemen’s BBQ in the Kremmling Town Square. For dessert try a selection of homemade pies crafted by area residents. The main stage is presented by The Trash Company! Admission to the event and fireworks is free - all activities and excellent firework viewing takes place in Town Square Park.

In Grand Lake there is the famous fireworks extravaganza over the lake. People can enjoy music, food, good company, and a great show that takes place over the water and always promises to be stunning

No matter what you do have a happy and safe 4th of July!!!

On June 30th 9 am, a 5 mile run/walk will take place through the lush green forests from Winter Park Resort to Fraser. This run is designed for all abilities and ages. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, post-race party, and a raffle entry.

The summer Ski Train makes its first run on June 30. From then  on it will run every Saturday through August 18. The train takes you on a two hour excursion to Winter Park Resort. This is a great way to experience the scenic wonders of rugged alpine wilderness.

The Bicycle Tour of Colorado will be coming through Winter Park on Monday, June 25th. The riders, which are coming 75 miles from Walden will be camping or lodging at Winter Park Ski Area. There are about 1,800 competitors who will be leaving Winter Park around 5am-10am on Tuesday, and head over Berthoud to Copper Mountain.

July 5-7th prepare yourself for the events going on in Winter Park. There will be three days of concerts, contests, and some of the most incredible riding on the planet, the best of the best pro and amateur riders will show you what freeride in the mountains really is. The festival will feature cross country, downhill Super D, and big air events. There will also be a John Cowen designed slopestyle course.

So much is happening in Kremmling for the upcoming Kremmling Days festivities and now the town fills with music. Here is a list of the upcoming musical talents that will be preforming:

Friday, June 15, 2007- Stealing Outfield, a local “alternative rock” band will be preforming from  6:30-7:30 pm

Friday, June 15, 2007- Yaniv and Friends, a collection of talented Grand County musicians will be playing a variety of music from several different genres, they will be preforming from 8-11 pm

Saturday, June 16, 2007- The Summit Concert Band, a familiar group with an amazing variety of  talents plays at Kremmling Days for their 25th year, they will be preforming from 12-1 pm

Saturday, June 16, 2007- Jubilant Bridge, an acostic duo that are both harmonic and musically innovative will be preforming from 2:30-4:30 pm

The “Screw Iowa! Writers Group” is  a group of five novelists who have their own writers workshop. They are inviting all local writers and readers to attend a fiction and poetry reading. This reading will take place on June 17th at 7pm at the Fraser Valley Library. One of the members, Nina Romano, an award-winning poet and writer, will read from her new book of poetry, “Cooking Lessons.”  The other attendees include Pushcart Prize nominee Lauren Small, mystery writers Mariana Damon and Marnetter Graff, and humorist Melisssa Westemeier.
