Oktoberfest
Friday, September 21st, 2007Oktoberfest is almost here! October 5&6 it will be in historic downtown Granby, here’s a schedual of what’s happening:
Friday October 5th
- Farmer’s Market begins at 3 pm in the Downtown Granby Parking Lot and there will be a Traveling Pumpkin Patch for the kids
- Oktoberfest Fare: local and statewide vendors, Strudel & Schnitzel & German Bratwurst, Barbecue/ Desserts, Clam Chowder & Smoked Salmon
- Beer Garden: Beer & Wine
- Live Music:
- 4:00 pm Washboard Annie
- 5:00 pm Dakota Blond
Saturday October 6th
- 8:30 am - 5K Fun Run/Walk for all ages- Begins at Morales Farms, ends at Granby Town Park
- 8:00 am-10:30am - Pancake Breakfast in the Granby Town Park
- Til noon - Family activities in the Park
- Traveling Pumpkin Patch for Kids
- Downtown Business Scarecrow Contest: viewing & judging
- Noon-4pm - Childern’s Activities including Face Painting, Craft Table, and a Root Beer Garden

- Community Musical Performances

Luncheon and Fashion Show
Friday, September 21st, 2007The Grand County Rural Health Network’s 3rd Annual Lucheon and Fashion Show, “Passport to Health” will take place on Saturday September 22, 2007 from 11am to 3pm. The Fashion Show, taking place at the Inn at Silver Creek, will feature local women as models. It will give everyone that goes a unique opportunity to shop for fall and winter fashions as well as everything you could want for Christmas from jewelery, clothes, accessories and a multitude of other gifts. Volunteers have purchased quality clothing in all sizes. Tickets can be purchased at the WP Chamber of Commerce, Grand Mountain Bank (all locations), Grand County Rural Healh Network, & KMHD for $35. At the door tickets will be $40.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the A.C.H.E.S. (Advocacy for Childern’s Health and Education Services) program which provides vouchers for acute, non-emergent, mental health or dental care services to childern under the age of 18 who qualify finacially. Their services have recently been broadened to include mobile Dental and Medical vans coming to Grand County.

Saturday, September 1st, 2007Right now is the time to purchase your season passes before prices increase on Sept 4. Renew your Winter Park season passes, Rocky Mountain Super Passes, or Four Passes now at passwagon.com. If you need to purchase a new pass they are availiable at any Front Range Christy Sports starting Sept 1. There are a lot of new things to check out this year, including the new six-person Panoramic Express chairlift to the summit of Parsenn Bowl, 100 acres of enhanced terrain including two new trails, a new parking structure closer to the mountain, and the much anticipated opening of two new lodges, Fraser Crossing and Founders Pointe.

Saturday, September 1st, 2007This holiday weekend is one of your last chances for fun up at Winter Park Ski Resort. Roll down Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide and mountain bike 50 miles of lift-accessible trails.
